This free workshop will be held at the Seymour Center on January 25, 2011 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Excite your students about exploring the great outdoors! Grade 4-8 teachers and educators are invited to join the Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County (RCDSCC) and the Seymour Center for a free teacher workshop using Santa Cruz County watersheds. Find out how to effectively fulfill state education standards with thematic, inquiry-based investigations using local environment and agency resources to help students learn about streams, rivers, and wetlands in their own neighborhoods. Julia Davenport, Watershed Cruzin' creator, leads the workshop along with mentor teachers and a fisheries scientist.
Workshop participants will receive:
- Watershed Cruzin' grade level specific activity booklets, featuring classroom-ready curriculum that applies science and history content standards to local, place-based activities. Worksheets available in English and Spanish.
