Request for Bid: Camp Skylark Hazard Tree Removal and Forest Health Project -- CLOSED

POst Fire Camp clipOn behalf of the Girl Scouts of Northern California, the RCDSCC invites contractors to bid on the Camp Skylark Hazrd Tree Removal and Forest Health Project, a 37-acre fuels reduction project permitted through the Skylark Ranch Forest Health Project Specific Analysis (PSA). See documents below. The project treatment will improve habitat conditions and ecosystem function of the vegetation communities within the treatment area and increase safety, which would allow the camp to resume operations.

The 2020 CZU Lightning Complex burned the majority of the vegetation within White House Canyon, including Skylark Ranch, with ranging severities from low to high burn severity and left behind large amounts of unconsumed, dead and dying trees and other materials. The buildup of dead and dying material following the 2020 CZU Lightning Complex has degraded conditions in the treatment area. Removing dead, dying, and irreversibly diseased trees as well as thinning of small diameter live trees would increase the growth potential and carbon storage capacity in the residual stand.

Treatments in the project area will focus on fuels reduction treatment of primarily small diameter and the removal of fire damaged dead, dying, and hazardous trees  broken up into three treatment units.
