You can help by enjoying a family day at the beach, fishing in the Monterey Bay, shopping for fresh local produce, or hiking at one of our regional open spaces, we share an appreciation for the natural resources our small coastal community has to offer. Our watersheds are working hard everyday to support not only farmers and ranchers, families and businesses, but also the abundant plants, animals and landscapes that make Santa Cruz such a special place to live. Participating in the protection, conservation and restoration of these resources is a wonderful way to give back. Here are just some of the ways you can help.
Supporting the RCD means supporting your local community, and helping to conserve your local soil, water, and wildlife. Your donations help to further the mission of the RCD and can be targeted toward your area of interest. All donations made online through December 31, 2016 will support the Karen Christenen Fund. If you wish to send a check or support another RCD program, please use the mail-in donation form and choose your area of interest (which includes the Karen Christensen Fund).
Join the RCD at one of our Community Restoration Days or volunteer with your favorite local non-profit. Check our workshops & events page for various volunteer opportunities or visit the web links section for a list of natural resource conservation groups and environmental and agriculture non-profit organizations.
